The Black Olive Tree is known for its dark, glossy leaves and durable bark. Olive trees have a distinct, gnarled-looking central trunk. This feature makes it a popular addition to gardens. However, the Black Olive tree does not actually produce any fruit, it was given the name due to its airy, olive-like appearance of the trunk.  It grows in layered tiers with a distinct space between each set of horizontal branches that spread across landscapes providing adequate cover and shade.
