Papaya

Papaya is a local favorite that would be an excellent addition to your fruit garden. It can reach a height of 3 to 4 m in a pot, but it can grow much taller in its natural environment. The long-stalked, papaya leaves alternate to form a tree crown. The fruits have smooth, thin skin like a mango. Inside, the pulp is orange and the center lined with small black seeds. Papayas, also known as papaws or pawpaws, contain a range of nutrients, such as antioxidants and potassium.
